Day 1 Arrival in Hanoi (D)

Transfer via: International flight of your own arrangements.  Stay at La Dolce Vita Hotel Hanoi.  Upon your arrival in Hanoi your tour guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel.  Tonight we will have a meal in one of the fine restaurants in Hanoi.

Day 2 Hanoi City tour (B, L)

Stay on a Soft Sleeper Train.  Visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, His House on stilts, the One Pillar Pagoda, the outside of the Presidential Palace and the Temple of Literature which was Vietnam’s first University. In the afternoon we will go to the Ethnology Museum followed by an hour on a cyclo (a pedal rickshaw) being taken round the old quarter of Hanoi. Tonight we will take the train overnight to Lao Cai.

Notes:  Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum opening time: Open from Tuesday to Thursday and weekends from 8am to 11pm. Closed on Mondays and Fridays. The mausoleum is closed for two months of the year, usually October and November, when Ho Chi Minh’s body is maintenance by Russian expert.

Day 3 Lao Cai – Sa Pa (B)

Stay at Bamboo Hotel SaPa.  Upon your arrival your tour guide will meet you and you will then head towards the nearby China/Vietnam border gate to observe the start of an early day trade taking place between the two countries. Then we will take a scenice drive to Sapa which is an old French trading town set high on the mountainside with spectacular views.  We will then check into our hotel and have some free time.  After lunch we will take a walk to Cat Cat Village.

Day 4 Sa Pa – Lao Cai – Overnight train to Hanoi (B)

Stay on Soft Sleeper Train – 4 berth Cabin with A/C.  After a short journey overlooking the beautiful, terraced rice paddies, we will arrive at the two villages of Lao Chai and Ta Van of the H’Mong and Giay hill people. We will take a 3 hour trek to visit them and then return to Sapa.  You will have some free time in the afternoon before we leave by bus for Lao Cai Station to catch the overnight sleeper train back to Hanoi.

Day 5 Hanoi – Halong Bay (B, L, D)

Stay on Halong Sails.  Upon arrival, your tour guide will transfer you to your hotel for breakfast before departing for Halong Bay.  From there we will cruise around the secluded bay, marvelling at 3000 limestone peaks that emerge from the emerald water. We will visit spectacular limestone caves, swim from our boat, and have the option of kayaking to explore the hidden charm part of the bay. Overnight on boat.

Day 6 Halong Bay – Hanoi (B, L)

Stay at La Dolce Vita Hotel Hanoi.  Start the day kayaking to explore Luon cave and from there we kayak towards Turtle islet, Human Head islet, and the Saddle islet. After having lunch on boat we depart Halong for Hanoi.

Day 7 Hanoi – Fly to Hue (B)

Transfer via: Vietnam Airlines.  Stay at Green Hue Hotel.  Catch a 1 hour flight to Hue. Upon arrival in Hue we can explore the superb sights of the city including the Citadel, the Imperial City and the Forbidden Purple City.

Day 8 Hue (B, L)

Stay at Green Hue Hotel.  Head towards the Perfume River to embark on a riverboat journey. Visit the Thien Mu pagoda (the Pagoda of the Heavenly Lady) then continue to the elaborate Tu Duc tombs of the Nguyen emperors. Visit Dong Ba market on our return.

Day 9 Hue – Hoi An (B)

Stay at Van Loi Hotel.  Travel through the high pass of Hai Van with its spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean en route to Hoi An. On the way we will also visit Cham museum, Me Khe beach and the marble village. Then take a walking tour of the Old Town with its narrow, winding streets, visiting the Fukien Assembly Hall, the 200 year old Tan Ky house, the Japanese covered bridge, the Hoi An Museum and the handicraft workshops. Then free time to go shopping, to the nearby beach, or even have some clothes made which can be picked up the very next day.

Day 10 Hoi An – Free day (B)

Stay at Van Loi Hotel.  Today we are free at our leisure.

Day 11 Hoi An – My Son (B)

Stay at Van Loi Hotel.  Visit My Son, a relic of the Cham civilization which dates back from the 4th to the 12th century. We will return at noon giving us more time to explore quaint Hoi An. We also can take part in a cooking class showing us how to prepare the best Vietnamese and Hoi An specialties.

Day 12 Hoi An – Fly to Ho Chi Minh City and Cu Chi Tunnel (B)

Transfer via: Vietnam Airlines.  Stay at Kingston Hotel.  We will take a short flight to Ho Chi Minh City early this morning, and after breakfast we will head for the legendary Cu Chi Tunnels. In the early afternoon we will return to Ho Chi Minh city (Saigon), a fascinating mix of old and new for us to explore at your leisure.

Day 13 Ho Chi Minh – Mekong Delta (B, L, D)

Stay at Basic home stay.  Start our day by visiting Mekong Delta. At Vinh Long town we will board a local boat and cruise through the intricate waterways of the Mekong. Lunch at a local house, stop to visit cottage industries and spend the night at the simple lodging of a local family in the Mekong Delta.

Day 14 Mekong – Ho Chi Minh City (B, L)

Stay at Kingston Hotel.  Our day will begin with a boat trip along the endless waterway of the mighty Mekong River to Cai Be floating market.  After that we have the chance to see how the local people make pop corn and rice paper. In the afternoon we go back to Ho Chi Minh City, and the rest of the day is leisure time.

Day 15 Ho Chi Minh City (B, L)

Stay at Kingston Hotel.  Today we tour around the city and visit the highlights of Saigon such as Notre Dame cathedral, General Post Office, Formal Presidential Palace, Museum of War Remnants and Ben Thanh Market.

Day 16 Ho Chi Minh City – Siem Riep (B)

Transfer via: Vietnam Airlines.  Stay at Steung Siem Reap Hotel.  Upon your arrival to Siem Riep we will explore Angkor with the Rolous group of temple before climbing to the hilltop temple of Phnom Bakheng for a spectacular sunset.

Day 17 Angkor Temple complex (B)

Stay at Steung Siem Reap Hotel.  Take a drive out to the Pre Rup and East Mebon and visit Banteay Srey (the Woman temple) followed by lunch and then off to explore the majestic Angkor Wat – The Wonder of the World – a truly memorable experience.

Day 18 Siem Reap (B)

Stay at Steung Siem Reap Hotel.  Visit the ruins of Taprohm (the Jungle Temple) before heading to Banteay Kdei and the nearby lake of Sra Srang. Following lunch we will explore the Angkor Thom.

Day 19 Siem Reap – Phnom Penh (B)

Stay at Castle Hotel Phnom Penh.  Travel by hydrofoil to Phnom Penh and visit the Wat Phnom Pagoda which is dedicated to the founder of the city, Madam Penh.

Day 20 Phnom Penh (B)

Stay at Castle Hotel Phnom Penh.  A full-day sightseeing in the national capital including the National museum, the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda, the Tuol Sleng Museum, the horrific killing field and the Russian Market.

Day 21 Departure (B)

Transfer via: International flight onfyour own arrangements.  Your tour guide will transfer you to the airport for your flight out of Cambodia.  The trip concludes.

2. Children Policy

Under 2 years old: No charge for tour & 50% airfare charge
From 2 to under 5 years old: 50% charge for tour & 75% airfare charge
From 5 to under 12 years old: 75% charge for tour & airfare
From 12 years old: 100% charge as adult

3. Insurance:

An illness, an accident or an unexpected situation can arise before or during any type of vacation. Such an event might cause you to cut short your trip or cause your trip to be cancelled altogether.

Insurance exists to protect passengers from financial loss in the event of an emergency.

We strongly recommend you buy travel insurance before travel.

4. Alteration of Itinerary

Prior to the booking, we are happy to process alterations to your itinerary free of charge. Once the deposit has been paid, alterations will attract a fee of 30AUD per request.

5. Cancellation

All cancellations will incur a fee of 100AUD per person.

No-show travellers will be charged 100% of the tour price.
